Doncaster AeroVenture, The South Yorkshire Aircraft Museum
Doncaster AeroVenture, The South Yorkshire Aircraft Museum is a volunteer-led museum located at Lakeside in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, England.
It occupies the former site of the Royal Air Force Station, RAF Doncaster, and hosts a vast collection of aircraft and helicopters. From the biplanes flown at the 1909 Doncaster Airshow (the first airshow held in the UK) to Military Fast Jets like the Harrier and Meteor.
It is also said that staff as well as visitors have heard whispers, whistles, children's laughter, plus a sense of deep sorrow in the last remaining original buildings from RAF Doncaster, the two wooden 'Billet Huts' (Buildings 19 and 21).
